State Registration Deadline

They have extended the registration deadline for State. If you weren't able to register last night, you still have time.

Weigh In's will still be on Thursday from 6-7:30 pm at North Sevier.

Thursday's Practice and State

Thursday's practice will be from 5-5:45 pm. We are quitting early so the wrestlers can go to Salina to weigh in for State. Weigh in's open at 6 and close at 7:30 pm. Please be there before 7, so you have enough time to weigh in.

Practice Thursday will be conditioning, and perfecting any moves the wrestlers need help with.

State begins Friday at 4 pm at the Sevier Valley Events Center. Admission is $8 per person and good for both Friday and Saturday. Please have your wrestler there by 3 pm to find their mat and warm up. They are doing a "Parade of Teams" at 3:45 pm, so please be early if you want to see that.

Saturday wrestling will begin at 8 am.

We will post pictures and results on Monday.

State Wrestling is THIS WEEKEND!!! All the info is in the previous post. YOU MUST REGISTER TONIGHT IF YOU ARE GOING! No late registration will be allowed! We will have practice as scheduled tonight (5-7pm).

Region Results and STATE!

Our wrestlers did amazing at Region. It was a tough tournament! Congratulations to our wrestlers that placed:

2nd Place: Tezlin Winn
3rd Place: Brayan Ruiz, Stockton Hansen, Joey Marshall
4th Place: Damon Mayfield
5th Place: Thomas Yardley

STATE INFORMATION (UPDATED 1/26/15)

 

* State wrestling will be held on January 30-31, at the Sevier Valley Events Center (same place as Region).

 

* The cost is $20 and you have to register online on Track Wrestling. There are two divisions: Middle School (5th & 6th grades) and Jr. High (7th & 8th grades).

 

* Registration deadline is TUESDAY, JANUARY 27th at Midnight! Register NOW, Don't wait till the last minute!!!

 

* Weigh In's are at satellite sites. The closest ones to us are North Sevier and Nephi. Those are on Thursday, January 29th,  from 6-7:30. Please show up as early as possible to weigh in, to make sure you get it done within the time frame.

 

* They will be charging admission. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children (3 & under are free). You only have to purchase admission once. One admission is good for both days. Concessions will be available.

 

* Friday wrestling will begin at 4 pm and go until approximately 8 pm.  We want all wrestlers at the event center by 3 pm to find mats and warm up.

 

* Saturday will begin at 8 am and go until the tournament is finished, with awards after. They are placing 1st - 6th place.

Region Weigh In Update - IMPORTANT!

Last night was the seeding meeting for Region. The brackets are done and posted on Track Wrestling.

Wrestlers - YOU HAVE TO MAKE WEIGHT! They announced at last nights meeting that there are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO WEIGHT CHANGES for the tournament. If you don't make weight, you don't wrestle, and your matches will be forfeited.

Weigh in's open at 3:00 pm. If you have weight to lose, I would suggest being there at 3, just in case you need to run some extra weight off. You have until 4:30 pm to make weight. If you are even one ounce over, they will not let you wrestle. They are closing the weights at exactly 4:30, they will not allow any weigh in's after that.

Parents - You need to make sure your child makes weight. This is not a coaches responsibility. We will have a coach there by 3, but you need to be the one there monitoring your childs weight. Each wrestler was weighed last week and given the choice of their weight class, so they should know if they need to work it off or not.

Region Update

Region is this Thursday, January 22nd, starting at 5:00 pm at the Sevier Valley Events Center. Please be there BEFORE 4:00 pm to weigh in, find your mat, and warm up. DON'T BE LATE or they will bump you from the tournament!

This Week

This week is a VERY busy one! First, the deadline to register for the Beehive Brawl is tomorrow (Monday). Sometimes they will extend the deadline, but as of right now it's Monday. If you want to go, get signed up right away.

Tuesday we will have practice as scheduled, 5-7 pm. 

Thursday is Region! If you haven't paid your fee, you are not on the list registered to go! Please contact Coach Winn and get your $8 fee turned in to him. We are registering our team on Monday evening, so your money needs to be turned in by then in order to be registered. 

Those signed up for Region, and have paid the entry fee (or made arrangements) are: Stockton, Joey, Thomas, Kent, Damon, Bridger, Tezlin, Ty, Carson Y, Carson P, Jarrett, Mason, EJ, and Brayan.  If you weighed in and your name is not on the list, it's because we have not received your registration money (or arrangements have not been made for the fee). 

Official weigh in's for Region will be on Thursday from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, at the Sevier Events Center. Wrestling will begin at 5:00 pm. There will be no spectator fee at the event. Please do not wait until 4:30 to show up. We would like all wrestlers there and weighed in by 4, so we have time to warm up and find everyones mats, etc. 

The Beehive Brawl begins on Friday for all wrestlers in the 8 and under divisions. All the rest of the age groups (10 & Under, 12 & Under, and 15 & Under) begin on Saturday morning at 9:30 am. Please go to beehivebrawl.com for all tournament info.
